Mademoisel
06 JUN

Mademoisel

Tunnel cruisers from Berlin’s own Mademoisel to see in the nights expanse. Gritty and jagged edged electro-ish minimal-ish hi-tek stuff sat somewhere between the concrete warper-techno of Posthuman and Baby Ford and the more soulbound trance-lite drivers of Dexter and Anatolian Weapons. Serious methods throughout, harkening to duskier eras, duskier corners, duskier people. Excellent raw kind of stuff, and a big tip!

MOODTAPES·06 JUN

Moodtapes w/ Barbara Hryciuk

Barbara Hryciuk goes back to the roots for this edition of Moodtapes with a focus on Polish label The Very Polish Cut Outs, taking mixed Polish gems from the 70s through the 90s from rock to jazz and reworking it with electronic stylings. Enchanting, diverse, and transportive stuff from back to front. Tip.

cossin
Slow Dance·05 JUN

cossin

The city echoes through Cossin’s mid-afternoon offering on RP. From Bowery Electric’s concrete plains to the dubwound charge of Elting Lieb and the lullabic sentience of Boards of Canada, it's a mix-as-wandering through those natural pockets and livened intersections of the metropole. At once human and abstract, just good music really - big tip.

Slow Dance·05 JUN

umore

Winding percussive stretches through the expanse, those cavernous depths of contemporary experimental-leaning techno like summons of the outer reaches. Umore takes that trip, and does so with intent drawing from distinct pockets in an expansive sound and cohering them around that very exploration, whether through the terminal minimalism of Floid, the percussive abstraction of Al Wootton, or the melodic glint of Efdemin. Tip!

Popmix b2b Alfredo92
IMMERSION x Outlook Origins Takeover·30 MAY

Popmix b2b Alfredo92

Part 4 of the Immersion x Outlook Origins comes in the form of some premiere gritty wizard biz from local dons Popmix and Alfredo92 going inward on a mix of skudgy duster tek, long winding bits of cloudy minimal techno, and a few bouncers to boot. With deepcuts from Potato Gun to Swayzak and Herbert, theirs is a channeling of mixed methods in swagged-out, lights-down, foot-shaking material. Tip.

inside//out·29 MAY

inside//out w/ inesse

inside//out returns via host inesse in an hour tracing techno’s more restrained greyzones, binding concrete atmospheres with skudgy drumwork and the kind of rolling, subtle severity one finds strands of production from the likes of big hitters like Surgeon, Regis, and James Ruskin. Proper head nodding material. Tip.

Prog Realm w/ Crisco b2b Hindwood
Prog Realm·23 MAY

Prog Realm w/ Crisco b2b Hindwood

Ahead of an allnighter in Jolene’s hallowed booth, Prog Realm sees head-honcho Crisco linkarms with Hindwood on 2 hours of outsider-progtek for the ages. A perfect unison of the original material and that of the present, it's a marriage of screwed tech-house rhythmics with the rolling essences of 2k progressive - all delivered with a gnarly electroid edge. Includes bits from Nectar, Nicola Cruz, and Boy Berger. Tip.

Anton Goltermann (live)
22 MAY

Anton Goltermann (live)

Anton Goltermann rounds out this Friday evening with a debut liveset of acid-laced progressive methods delivered via a meaty old Yamaha RS7000 and scratch combo. Balanced hands-up business channeling OG methods and with that, those same sonic signatures carried through to the present in something personal, refreshing, and yet deeply familiar; a total standout. Tip.

Who Else?
22 MAY

Who Else?

Who Else? The question lingers, answered on this Friday afternoon with a funked-up soulbound soundtracking of that fading evening light. Serious sauce on these 7’’ plates, finding a perfect fusion of funk, RnB, and disco from Tyrese and Booty Luv to Dawn Silva. Wickedly good music, played out like a personal invitation to those warmest and messiest of communal apartment sessions. Big tip.

Myths & Rhythms·16 MAY

Myths & Rhythm w/ Handless DJ

Handless DJ’s Myths & Rhythm returns this time in the form of a masterclass in intelligent and meditative electro-prog obscurity. Drawing a thread through enchanted cuts of humanist analogue tunes from the likes of Higher Intelligence Agency, Raymond Castoldi, and Ron Trent. The kids are at play indeed. Tip.

Dancehallmandela
15 MAY

Dancehallmandela

An homage to blissful experiments in rhythm from Dancehallmandela to see in Friday afternoon. Patient and drifting selections drawn both from drummed up tribalist outsider-edges and those more easily comprehended blends of house and downtempo. Includes bits from Photay to Mashahiro Takahashi and The Maghreban. Tip.
