Amiraku

Born and raised in Casablanca, Amiraku’s musical journey evolved when he arrived in Denmark, and digged into his passion for electronic music. Between Detroit and Berlín, going through the UK, his musical inspirations are many and his sets go through a multitude of genres and sounds

I was born and raised in Casablanca (Morocco), a country with a deep culture of percussive music and eclectic rhythms; I did not start listening to electronic music until I moved to Europe, as the access to this kind of music is extremely limited in Morocco, but I was brought up with a strong musical influence, my mom showing me hard-rock, my dad showing me classical music, and myself just being curious about discovering new sounds. Things expanded deeply for me the first time I went to a rave, and mostly the first time I entered a record store and discovered the excitement of listening to completely new musics and sounds, learning about new artists and labels, and so on. From then on, it was easier to develop my own taste in music and dig deeper than that, finding old rave mixtapes from the 90s and labels that released harder music, but I also very much got inspired by artists like Martinez and all of the minimal universe around that. I would say that my biggest inspirations are the old rave/acid sound, and more minimal music, but it’s obviously not limited to that.
