Boogie Rookie

Boogie Rookie is one of the busiest disco jockeys in town. His sets span wide in genre but everything that he plays sounds somehow nostalgic, groovy and kitsch. After ten years in a record shop he has built up a wide and eclectic selection ranging from forgotten Danish disco to euro house to spiritual jazz. This wednesday at Panini he'll be bringing a lot of the Italian gems that he has been touring Europe with for the past month.

Boogie Rookie is Copenhagen's discotheque rockstar. The club crooner pushes a sound between aw rock n roll acid house, über kitsch disco records and synth-spangled 80's new wave. His debut album EUROSTAR attempts to bridge the troubled waters between UK rock and euro-disco - a similar mission that he sets in his DJ sets. His eccentric sets have brought him residencies at Copenhagen's Jolene and Cecil AM and Paris' La Fete and he is now busy travelling to the best discos in european rave capitals like Rimini, Berlin and Tblisi.
