Jordi Gendra

Based in Copenhagen

Jordi Gendra is a musician, arranger and DJ. He began DJing in his hometown of Barcelona back in 1992, playing a key role in introducing dance jazz and related rhythms to the local scene. In 2008, he co-founded Tracy Recordings, which quickly became one of Spain’s most influential electronic music labels. Renowned for his solid and sophisticated DJ sets, Jordi performs under the alias Strong Language when diving into music production. While he's no stranger to the studio—being a classically trained professional musician—it's through Strong Language that he reaches full creative expression. His sound is a distinctive fusion of Chicago house, boogie, Detroit flavors, and a dash of disco, blending into a unique and personal sonic cocktail released in labels such as Top Billin, Envy Music and Attaché. Now based in Copenhagen, Jordi may be a fresh face on the local scene, but he’s already made an impression with his smooth and eclectic sets. Expect a rich mix of old and nu-school jazz-funk, '80s grooves, and boogie, showcased all around the city. Most recently, Jordi collaborated as a flute player, conductor and arranger on the latest album by Emil Friis, the acclaimed post-classical composer from Copenhagen.
