Minelect

Based in Leipzig, Germany

Minelect grew up in Darmstadt, where he developed an appreciation for all kinds of music from an early age. He is now studying opera singing at the University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. Alongside his classical training, he has always had a passion for electronic music. It started with DJing Drum & Bass, UK Garage, and Dubstep, genres he was drawn to thanks to Darmstadt music collectives known for their UK sound. At 18, Minelect founded a DJ collective with friends, and together they organized open-air events and raves in Darmstadt. In addition to DJing, he began producing his own tracks. Many influences, ranging from classical music to the UK sound with its deep basslines, have come together to create music that Minelect would classify as electro. In his compositions, Minelect enjoys experimenting with analog synthesizers, drum machines, and piano music. In Leipzig, he co-organizes a party series with Thomas Mall (aka ToyTheremin) dedicated to a wide range of electronic music subgenres. He also co-founded the Panam Collective, with events touring through Leipzig, Dresden, Halle, and Berlin.
