Nissa Carrington

Nissa Carrington is a selector, radio host, organizer and founding member of the DJ network SLIC Unit.Her style is influenced by the Soul, Disco and early Rap her parents introduced her to, the Pop, RnB and Dancehall anthems she worshipped as a teen and the dark sounds hailing from Atlanta, Houston and Memphis that seeped through her brother’s bedroom walls. Combining all these flavors with energetic bass and club music from all over the world, her sound is a diverse sound collage featuring international gems.

 

Since picking up the USB sticks in 2018 she has played clubs all over the world like Berghain (Panorama Bar), Golden Pudel Club and Bossa Nova Civic Club, festivals like Fusion, Nation of Gondwana, CTM Festival, Bogotrax or Bonanza Festival Buritaca as well as radio shows and platforms like HalfMoon Brooklyn, Radio80000, The Lot Radio, Radio Nopal, HÖR Berlin and Refuge Worldwide.

 

She is a co-host on the monthly show TRACTION on Uebel & Gefährlich' sic.nal Radio as well as a resident at foundation.fm with her Hamburg & Berlin based DJ network SLIC Unit.
