Pacific Bureau

Started by Michelangelo Buzzi in Santiago de Chile in 2016, Pacific Bureau is a DJ and production project born from a fascination with travel exploration and traditional music discovery. Inspired by the places Michelangelo has travelled through and lived in, particularly Latin America, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Pacific Bureau is built around the idea of musical research: digging through records, local traditions, and then reworking them into energetic, contemporary edits. Over the past decade, Pacific Bureau has performed at parties and venues across Los Angeles, Santiago de Chile, Lisbon, Barcelona and Milan. As a producer, Pacific Bureau has released music on respected independent labels including Axe On Wax in London and La Bestiole Records in Paris, and is currently channeling his upcoming releases into Pacific Island, an imagined island that acts as a container for his present productions, mixes and side projects. Amaronauta is currently his main professional project, with the goal of building a sustainable business while continuing to explore new challenges in the wider field of sustainable product development. Travel remains an inseparable part of this practice. Michelangelo is drawn to slow exploration and the discovery of places and ideas outside the obvious routes. His vintage red Fiat Panda has become a natural companion to this approach, most recently taking them across Northern Europe towards Nordkapp.
